Google is one of the fastest growing educational platforms across Europe and the USA, and it is now gaining a lot of ground in the UK. It is free for educational use.

GeTech are involved with helping schools migrate to Google, and also advise on the use of devices such as Chromebooks. These are becoming increasingly popular and cost between £150 and £250.

Chromebooks aren’t just used for Google, they can be used in an Office 365 environment. With a Chromebook, all of your programmes are accessed via the internet, or downloaded for use in offline mode. All of the data is stored in the cloud, so there is no need to use lots of hard drive space or RAM.

Chromebooks enable collaborative learning, in which students of differing performance levels work together to achieve a common goal.

GeTech’s after sales service includes site visits, a dedicated point of contact within the company and a 100-day Go-Live Plan. Additionally their service technicians are manufacturer trained. Depending on the support package that the school has, email support, telephone support, and health check audits are available.

This is clearly a high quality product, which will display an increasing presence in the education market.
