Royal Society of Chemistry

The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) is the largest organisation in Europe for advancing the chemical sciences.

Supported by a worldwide network of 48,000 members and an international publishing business, the RSC’s activities span education, conferences, science policy, and the promotion of chemistry to the public.

The RSC has a rich heritage dating back to 1841, and a Royal Charter to advance the chemical sciences through the dissemination of chemical knowledge.

The RSC is the largest non-governmental supporter of chemical science education in the UK.

In January 2012, RSC Education launched Learn Chemistry, a resource website and database to build students’ and teachers’ confidence and advance understanding in chemistry.

Since its launch in January 2012, Learn Chemistry has reached almost 800,000 individual users globally, with site traffic rising on average 10 to 20% every month. This year, Learn Chemistry won an Education Resources Award (ERA) and was shortlisted for a prestigious BETT award.
